Y38 Beauxbatons Practice S1

[Édelie de la Mora]

Édelie was nervous to lead her first practice with the team. Choosing who would be on the lineup this year had been nervewracking enough, and now she had to instruct what methods and drills they would do to successfully beat their opponents. Arriving a little early, she put on her gear and started pacing around the field, reviewing her instructions to make sure they were clear. After everyone had arrived, she cleared her throat with one broom in her hand and a clipboard in the other. "Alright, team. Thanks for coming to practice today! We have our game with Ilvermorny soon, and I know we'll keep our streak," she said with a fake confidence, clearing her throat again. If they did lose, it probably came down to her, but she put that thought out of her mind. "Alright, we only have one keeper so Aramis, you'll be defending the hoops. We're going to make mini teams. So Gemma, Hugo, and Gaby, you'll be on one team. And Élise, Amelie, and Ares will be on the other. I'll help out both chasers and kind of be a middle person." She looked at everyone, hoping they understood how the practice would go. "Alright, team, let's go!" she said, taking the quaffle into the air with her before tossing it out to the other two chasers.

[Amelie Derouin]

Amelie was stoked to have made the team. She hurried out onto the pitch with the others, skipping along and humming happily. When they were released, she shot up into the air and started seeking out the snitch.

 

[Gemma Thorne]

Gemma had been itching to get back to practicing now that she was finally on the starting team. She arrived to the pitch with her broom and a pair of sunglasses expertly balanced on the top of her head. She smiled serenely as Edelie addressed the team and she elbowed Hugo lightly when the captain said they'd be on a team together. Gemma generally had good luck in practice and was glad her friend wouldn't be on the receiving end. She kicked off quickly and spared no time chasing after a bludger and giving it a good wack. She had been aiming for their new alternate seeker but missed and hit their chaser instead. @Ares Kuya-Tine

 

[Amelie Derouin]

Amelie kept searching for the snitch.

 

[Aramis Faroe]

Aramis was pretty content with how his Quidditch career was going. It sucked that they'd lost the final match last year, but Aramis was still having fun, so he'd keep showing up for practices and games. He smiled contentedly at Édelie as she nervously addressed the team, giving her a quick mock salute as she naturally assigned him to the hoops. He half listened to the other team assignments before flying up to take his spot and keep a weather eye on the chaser's progress.

 

[Ares Kuya-Tine]

Ares was looking forward to playing some quidditch this year, especially since he was finally not an alternate anymore. The boy made his way to the pitch for the first practice of the year, and when the captain said they could begin, he kicked off into the air, taking the quaffle as it was thrown up and heading for the hoops towards Aramis.

 

[Édelie de la Mora]

Édelie was glad to see Ares getting the quaffle so quickly and flew after him.

 

[Aramis Faroe]

Ares had the quaffle now and Aramis watched idly as he and Édelie headed towards him and the hoops.

 

[Amelie Derouin]

Amelie continued her search for the Quidditch, trying to be thorough as she searched for the tiny gold ball.

 

[Gemma Thorne]

The bludgers seemed to be hiding now and she couldn't find a single one. With a slight frown Gemma flew over to Hugo to keep an eye out and block any that might get sent his way.

 

[Ares Kuya-Tine]

As Ares got closer to the hoops, he attempted to score. Unfortunately however, his shot went wide and he sighed a little at this. Not wanting it to get to him, he waited for the quaffle to be thrown back out.

 

[Amelie Derouin]

Amelie tried not to be distracted by the others playing the game, knowing her focus needed to be on finding the snitch. She knew she was just an alternate, but she needed to be ready just in case.

 

[Élise Moreau]

Élise loved the team and was glad she had made it once again. She was fast on her broom and to her luck she spotted a bludger nearby and with a good wack she managed to hit the captain. @Édelie de la Mora

[Gemma Thorne]

Gemma let out a frustrated sigh as she waited for a bludger to appear. She clapped lazily as Elise managed to land a hit on the captain and was at least glad Hugo had been spared so far.

Amelie continued her search for the snitch

 

[Gabrielle Perrault]

Gaby was excited to be back for quidditch again, listening to Édelie's talk and nodding when she mentioned the little teams she had divided them in. She pushed off into the air when they started and followed Ares when he caught the quaffle, watching as his shot went wide. Gaby caught the quaffle when it was thrown back out, circling around to take a little lap around the pitch.

 

[Gabrielle Perrault]

After she had gotten some distance between herself and the hoops Gaby turner around again to head back towards them.

 

[Élise Moreau]

Élise decided to fly close to the seeker and protected him from the other beater. She needed to now his pace so she could copy it for the upcoming games. Protecting the seeker was important, she could be used as a meat shield.

 

[Amelie Derouin]

Amelie's eyes went wide as she spotted the little golden ball. She took off after it, swaying quickly through the other players. She chased it halfway across the field before her fingers closed around the ball. She hadn't factored in stopping, however, and rolled several times as she tried to stop. She righted herself, laughing breathlessly and holding up her hand. "Captain!" She called, and when the captain had seen Amelie had the snitch she released it and waited a moment to give it a chance to fly off again,

 

[Hugo De Rosier]

Hugo was proud of his spot on the team, and eager to get started. He was a bit annoyed when the alternate caught the snitch almost immediately, and sped after it in an attempt to grab it next. Unfortunately, it got away.

 

[Gabrielle Perrault]

When Gaby got close enough to the hoops she threw the quaffle at the right one, watching as Aramis caught it and hovering in spot as she waited for it to be thrown back out.

 

[Gemma Thorne]

Gemma raised an eyebrow as the new seeker caught the snitch. She was impressed and knew she had to keep an eye on her. Unfortunately no bludgers showed themselves.

 

[Amelie Derouin]

Amelie set back into her search, enjoying the practice.

 

[Édelie de la Mora]

Édelie was surprised to see the beaters doing so well this quick. So surprised in fact that she didn't see the bludger coming her way, feeling it hit her leg and broom. Thankfully, the practice bludgers weren't as powerful, but they still stung. The seventh year did feel a sudden rush of adrenaline when she saw Amelie catch the snitch, albeit, a little unconventionally. She gave the girl a thumbs up. Then, she caught the quaffle as it was thrown back out after Gaby's score attempt and took a lap out.

 

[Aramis Faroe]

Aramis was glad he didn't have to do any crazy dives to block the first shot, giving Ares a sympathetic shrug when his shot went wide. When Gaby caught the quaffle he knew he'd have to be more on the ball as she approached the hoops, and was luckily ready to catch the quaffle when she made her shot, smiling and throwing it back out to the chasers.
