Her first year at Hogwarts had been a good one for Frankie, and after all the fun she'd had during her flying lessons - plus the fact that her house had won the entire freaking Quidditch cup, something she felt was totally legendary - Frankie knew she wanted to try out for the team this year as well. It didn't seem like there were any proper positions available for her to slide into, she heard in the captain's speech, but that hardly dampened her enthusiasm. Just having the chance to be an alternate would give her the chance for an actual team to practice and play around with, rather than finding a good time to drag all her friends out to the pitch with her. Nodding at the captain when it was time to start, she said, "Frankie Tillington. Seeing if I've got what it takes to be a Chaser." It was hands down the most involved position in the game, she thought, and therefore the main one she wanted to tryout for.
Grinning as she kicked off into the air, Frankie immediately began looking around for where the Quaffle was at. Seeing it in someone else's hands she sped off after them, quickly catching up and making sure she was in a position where they could pass it off to her if they felt the need. Frankie wasn't really the type for complex strategy, but she knew that tricking the Keeper about where the Quaffle was going to come from was something that had worked in a few of the games she'd watched before. She didn't think she'd get a chance to try it though - who would be willing to pass off the ball when they had a chance to make a shot themselves? Frankie couldn't say for sure that it wasn't something she would do herself, either. She really wanted to score at least one goal. When the other chaser scored, Frankie immediately dived for the ball as the Keeper threw it back out. She paid no regard to the idea of colliding with anyone else who might be going for the Quaffle as well, and to her delight Frankie's boldness paid off.
With the ball now tucked under her arm, she flew around slightly to get a good angle at the goal and then threw the Quaffle at the right-most hoop with all her might. Her power was good, but unfortunately her aim was a little off. Frankie didn't let the failure get to her, however, and kept at it for the rest of the tryout. She managed to intercept the Quaffle a few times, and dodged a bludger by mere inches at one point which made her laugh perhaps more than she should have - she was having the time of her life! She was determined to prove she could get a goal though, and steadily her aim improved as she got used to handling and aiming the Quaffle while controlling her flight path simultaneously. The keeper blocked most of the shots from going through the hoop these times, but Frankie knew she'd probably been on the team for several years - it was the few times a shot managed to get past her that had Frankie fist-pumping. As the tryout ended she landed back on the pitch and shot the captain a salute. "Thanks!" she yelled over at him before heading off to the changing rooms. Whatever happened now, she was too high on adrenaline to be worried about it.
