Andy made her way down the staircase to the entrance hall, she was warm now and dry at least. The rain had hit her hard and soaked her to the bone. At first it had been a welcome distraction but then she had seen Brian flying. He had made the silliest of apologies in her mind and she had reacted as she always did, defensively.
She sighed, they always seemed to be at logger heads as much as they enjoyed being friends, they also seemed intent on hurting one another. She didn't understand it at all.
Andy walked into the Great Hall, it was relatively quiet for this time of day. She chose to walk towards one of the back tables in the far left corner. She sat down and wrapped her arms around her big Gryffindor jumper. She snuggled into it to keep warm, the rain had chilled her to the bone.

She had washed and changed and tried her best to rationalise why herself and Brian behaved as they did to one another. She didn't hate him though sometimes he made it very easy to do so. Andy sighed and rested her head in her hands.
She smiled to herself as she remembered their train ride together, how they had made their pact and gotten to know each other so well. She saw him laughing at some silly thing she had said or done, his brown eyes wrinkling up into a grin.

She remembered the arguements they had and the teasing they shared. She considered him one of her bestfriends, no matter what they had said or done to one another. Then a thought occured to her and she gasped. It was so audible that she looked about to make sure that no-one else had heard it. She shook her head. NO! she didn't like him like that, she told herself. She couldn't and yet it made perfect sense to her. It almost made the most sense out of anything else in her mixed up crazy life.

In that moment of realisation only one thought also entered Andy's head which broke her heart and sent her spiralling in her mind. Zuka really liked Brian. Zuka was Andy's other best friend. She closed her eyes and wished she was any where else but here.

Brian had spent the last hour warming up, he was feeling quite squishy and had half a mind not to meet up with Andy, since he was sure they would end up arguring... again. It was frustrating having to always argue with her, they had alot in common but they also had things that were completely opposite from each other. Finally ten minutes till the time they were supposed to meet Brian put on a pair of Navy Blue jeans, a white T-Shirt and a Blue and White Hooded Sweater and made his way downstairs towards the Great Hall.

It seemed like this was always going to be a part of their friendship and Brian wondered if it had any chance of changing. He liked being friends with Andy and didn't want to give it up but it was hard being friends for a week and then going back to arguring for a few days, it was just something he didn't like doing. Not to mention Zazuka seemed to always choose her side, it wasn't fair. Brian knew they were both girls but she was also a Ravenclaw and probably should show more House Loyalty.

Brian entered the hall and looked around to see Andy in the far right corner, she seemed to have a look on her face, like a sudden realization that Brian just couldn't quite figure out. He decided that it was now or never feeling slightly nervous, She was someone that he cared about very much, like the sister he'd never had. It was that kind of friendship Brian cherished and didn't want to give up for anything else.

"so what's up?" Brian asked walking up to her.

Andy stirred out of her reverie when Brian showed up. She had just been telling herself that from here on in she would strife to be the best friend possible. That he would never ever know how she felt. No-one would. She would cease all physical contact, no hugs or pats on the back even. She knew this was for the best. She valued his friendship and Z's more than anything and would not jeopardise it for some silly school girl crush.
She smiled at him and stood up.
"Everythings good Brian. I've just remembered though we should really be getting ready for the Halloween fancy dress", she smiled at him what she hoped was her best smile, "I better go and change. What you wanted to talk to me about... can wait yeah? Till the party or afterwards?" she smiled again. She was about to put out her hand in an offer of friendship but remember what she had promised herself and pulled it back quickly.
"I better go, don't want to be the last at the party, see you there!" with that Andromeda waited for neither answer nor any other reaction but ran as fast as she could out of the great hall and up the stairs to the Gryffindor House,

"Oh um okay" Brian said a little shocked, he wasn't really sure what that was about and didn't know whether he should be affended or anything so decided to just go upstairs and get ready.

((I thought we were still not talking after Halloween?))
