Full Name: Heidi Jessica Matteson.
The name 'Heidi' originates from the name 'Adalheidis' which means kind and noble sort or type. Her grandparents got it from a Swedish friend and chose it for her because she was going to have to be kind and noble to face the hardships of life.
The name 'Jessica' was chosen because of her mother's name being Jessica, and it was selected as a method of honouring her memory as the woman she was.
'Matteson', the family name, was derived from the name 'Maddison'. It was changed during the warring family history when two brothers split off from the tree, one believing he rightfully owned the Maddison name, the other was shunned and driven to make changes necessary to keep him off the radar and living in peace.

Date of Birth: May the fourteenth, two thousand and thirty.
Heidi was born at half past four in the morning in a prison hospital ward.

Current Age: Four.
Heidi is currently four years old and started at the local infant school in September of twenty-thirty-four.
In spite of her young age, Heidi is making the most of her education and has begun to show true flair for an academic education in the areas of early-years numeracy, literacy, and language.
Her last school report states Heidi is showing keen interest in visual arts and music.

Basic Appearance: Petite, light mousey brown-come-ginger hair, lot's of white or blue knitted clothing.
Heidi is of very small and slight build, although she does have a little tummy puppy fat which sometimes pokes out when she's eaten too much jelly and ice-cream.
Her hair is kept quite short and trim but has a habit of going wild and doing its own thing. Her grandma likes to keep it brushed and pinned back neatly with an alice band or hair clips as her slightly wild fringe seems to go in her eyes a lot.
Heidi is often dressed in whites, blues, light yellows, fragrant orange, or other light and cheery clothing because her grandparents, in their own way, hope to inspire her to look more positively at the world and how beautiful it can be so that when she grows up and finally understands what happened to her parents, she will possibly be a little more open-minded and accepting.
Heidi has a half-moon scar across her right knee from when she was first learning to walk and tripped on a rug, catching her leg on a small piece of misshapen wooden flooring and leaving a small scar.

Personality: Sweet, polite, generous, interested in the world, eager.
From growing up with her grandparents in their tight-knit retirement community, Heidi has become very well-adjusted to meeting and befriending new people of a much older age. She is more than used to having to slow down her eager and youthful pace to the level of the elderly folk with whom she loves to spend her time entertaining with her playful antics.
Heidi is a very curious little girl and she isn't afraid to ask questions. She is patient enough to also wait for the answers and can sit for hours just simply listening to the elderly folk twittering on about their pasts, relevant or not.
She loves to give and make presents, though Heidi is not so good at receiving presents. Perhaps this is a side-effect of not having the love of her parents being around, which has made her more eager to give than to receive physical gifts as she seeks more of an emotional reward such as a hug or praise.

Family: Heidi's immediate relatives.

Jessica Matteson, Heidi's Mother.

Jessica Bethannie Matteson was born on the seventh of October, two-thousand and one, to Augustus and Fiammetta Everglass. She grew up as an only child, but was given all the love, affection, and prime education that her parents could afford to lavish upon her.
While attending a private school Jessica made the decision to aim to become an active member of the military services, and just seven months after her seventeenth birthday, she attended an interview for her dream job.
During her years of schooling at Hogwarts in Scotland, Jessica met a young wizard with similar ambitions. His name was Gareth Matteson. The two pupils were both of Slytherin house, and both had found a lust for their mutual ambitions.
When Jessica had been a member of the muggle army for three years, her old school flame made contact once again, stating that he too had joined the military ranks, and the couple were again united on the battlefield. But this love could not last forever.
Upon their leaving the army, Gareth and Jessica were wed at a typical wizarding style wedding, and both enjoyed a long honeymoon in the south of France. However, just months after conceiving Heidi, Jessica uncovered a shameful truth about Gareth; for the last twelve months, Gareth had been seeing another woman. Gareth claimed that this affair had meant nothing, though later confessed that there was a whole lot more emotional feeling than he had first wished to admit, and that he had every intention of wedding the other woman. Jessica could simply not cope with the level of rejection and, humiliated to the brink, tracked down the woman and disposed of her with methods she had learnt from the army. She turned herself in through the guilt of slaughtering a helpless muggle, and soon received divorce letters from Gareth. This seemed to be the end of the turmoil, but worse was still to come.
At the age of thirty-five, just months before his daughter was due to be born, Gareth took his own life.
In May of two-thousand and thirty, Jessica finally gave birth to her daughter, Heidi, though the child remained unnamed for some weeks, as just sixteen hours after the birth and removal of her daughter, Jessica also was to be discovered in the prison hospital wing, having taken her own life.
Jessica was pronounced dead at half past-eight on the Fourteenth of May, two-thousand and thirty.

Area of Residence: Moon-stead Residential Accommodation, Southern Scotland, the United Kingdom.
Heidi was born in the hospital ward of a prison. She was not allowed to remain here longer than the initial few hours of her life, long enough to receive her first feed, before she was taken away by social services.
Heidi spent the first few weeks of her life in the care of strangers while the paperwork was sorted out for her maternal grandparents to take over guardianship.
Since the age of three weeks, Heidi has lived with her grandparents in their privately owned apartment at Moon-stead Residential Accommodation as part of the retirement complex.

Blood Status:
- Whether your character is Pure-Blood; Half-Blood; Muggle-Born; e.t.c.

Heritage:
- What are your characters family roots. Are they part Scottish, for example.

Special Abilities: Heidi has no inherited special abilities, and she has yet to learn any.
If Heidi was to do a fair job in her studies at Hogwarts, then she would perhaps train up in a skill such as high-level transfiguration and move into the world of animagus. She would most likely assume the form of something slender but powerful, small and mighty.

Interests or Hobbies:
- What your character likes to do, and why?
- If your character has a favourite book, or song, put that here too.

Additional Skills:
- Does your character speak other languages (who taught them); can they juggle; dance; act e.t.c.?
Heidi has never even laid eyes upon a broomstick and would not know how to use one. As her youthful age benefits her in being quicker at picking up new skills, Heidi would probably take quite well to broom flight.

Strengths:

Weaknesses:
- List some of your characters weaknesses and flaws.

Describe your character in three words:
- Single word descriptions, and a reason as to why; if you can think of one.

Favourite place to be: At the park or in the communal living room.
Heidi loves to socialise with older people as she has grown up doing so. At the park she struggles to make friends because she is so used to relating to those of greater age and wiser mind. She especially loves to play chess and word games with the residents, and while she is still not very skilled in this matter, the people who usually play go easy on her and often let her win just to see her smile and chuckle.
Heidi loves going to the park with her grandmother, and on the odd occasion her grandfather comes too. They normally get ice-cream when the weather is nice, and if the weather is not so good then they go and play in the smokers area of the gardens which has over-head shelter.

Friends: People that Heidi has met and befriended throughout her life.
Sarah Whiting
tumblr_mxlxeiFQrh1scvwzfo1_250.png

Born on the third of January, two-thousand and thirty, Sarah grew up just around the corner from Saint Mary's school for girls. She has three brothers, all of which are older by three, five, and six years. Sarah lives with her brothers, their mother, and their father. Her hobbies include, but are not limited to, baking, swimming, playing the recorder, and hopscotch.
Sarah and Heidi first met during their starting day at Saint Mary's. Heidi had been quite friendly, which sat in stark contrast to Sarah's awkwardly shy nature due to her partial sight loss (she was born with a squint and not diagnosed until she started learning to read at nursery). The two girls hit it off immediately and fell into a strong and powerful friendship which resulted in many fun days out and the odd sleepover.

Diary Entries: Diary entries from an entrance year school assignment.
In her first year of school, Heidi, like the rest of the class, was tasked with the challenge to keep and pursue a diary. The aim for this practice was so that any students struggling to meet the standards for basic language and literacy levels may have the chance to improve without excessive feelings of being isolated and targeted as a 'failure'. Heidi found the assignment thoroughly enjoyable and continued to keep her own private diary after the task was completed.

School Reports: Muggle schooling.
Heidi received at least one school report on an annual basis from her entrance into the school, up until her leaving the muggle schooling system in her sixth year. Her grandparents were always very proud of her achievements and all of the hard work she put in throughout her time at school. They attended her every parent's evening as her formal guardians, and were rewarded with many teachers singing Heidi's praise. The only downfall Heidi seemed to meet with was her stubborn nature with which she maintained that magic could explain far more than science. It was towards these latter years that Heidi would often find herself in the presence of the school councillor who believed her to be suffering from delusions.

Photographs: Pictures of Heidi and important events.
On Heidi's fourth birthday her grandmother helped her to make and extra special effort with her appearance. The day was made a particularly memorable one as the other residents who frequented the communal areas and had gotten to know Heidi of old, whipped up a delicious hot fudge cake topped with cream.

Drawings And Art: Heidi's life through her own eyes.
When Heidi was three years old she was taken for one of her customary Saturdays out to the park with her grandmother, but as a one-off, her grandfather happened to come along. Usually on a Saturday her grandfather would be playing as part of the resident's chess club, but fortunate fell against him the team when the match had to be cancelled due to the passing away of the group leader. To spare Heidi witnessing the grim but necessary arrangements that such a situation brings, her grandfather joined the two of them in a day out to the park and bought Heidi a vanilla ice-cream with strawberry sauce and a flake. To Heidi this would-be scarring memory of a day actually turned out to be one of the best in her early life. So much so that she drew a picture upon her return home. The residents decided to display it in the communal living room to cheer themselves up.

Prized Possessions: Heidi's belongings of high personal value.
On her third birthday, Heidi was given a blue toothbrush and teddy bear toothbrush holder as a gift from her grandmother. It was a practical item she had once eyed up while shopping for new shoes at a department store, and had quickly grown fond of it. So much so that Heidi had pleaded it be given to her at a birthday or Christmas present.

Personal Preference: Favourites and preferences of Heidi's.
Favourite wild animal - A great big lion with a bushy brown mane. After a day trip to the zoo when she was three, Heidi has always favoured male lions above all other wild cats. She loves their swishing tails and and huge, powerful paws. Her happiest point watching them was seeing the male lion interacting with his cubs and licking the lioness across the face like a husband kissing his wife after returning from work.
Least favourite wild animal -

Favourite day of the week - Saturday. On a Saturday, Heidi and her grandmother go off to the local park for ice-cream and to play on the swings and climbing frame. She loves these days spent together, and especially likes them during the summertime as they get to stay out a lot longer into the evenings.
Least favourite day of the week - Tuesday. This day always feels sluggish and bland as it is neither the very beginning of the week, nor certainly not the end. Heidi loves going to school, but seems to find her lessons on a Tuesday to feel more taxing than those of any other day. It is also the day her grandmother goes out with her friends for coffee at Barton's Coffee House.

Favourite month of the year - July. This is the month when ice-cream and long days out at the park with Heidi's grandmother, and under unusual circumstances, her grandfather too. She really enjoys the heat of summer, also, as it means she can go out in shorts and t-shirts or pretty little dresses, rather than clunky snow boots and seven heavily knitted jumpers.
Least favourite month of the year - May. While Heidi has the brief joy of getting to celebrate her birthday within this month, it also seems to be a month of solemn remembrance for her grandparents. While Heidi has yet to fully understand the extent of events as to why she came to grow up under the care of her grandparents, she is aware that this time of saddened feeling is related to her mother and father.

Favourite plants and flowers - Daisies, buttercups, dandelions, and lilies. Heidi's love for the first, second, and third, are all related to childhood play; at school, Heidi would always make daisy chains during the spring and summer months while the girls sat out on the playing field.
Heidi's grandmother once told her that buttercups, when held under the chin of another, showed whether or not the person liked butter. This always brought Heidi into giggles as she tried it on everyone she met.
Dandelions, naturally, are something Heidi enjoys using to tell the time, blowing at the seeds and counting how many puffs it takes to send them all into the breeze.
As for lilies, Heidi has grown used to the scent and sight since she can remember. This is actually related to her parents and the situation that occurred with them. Every May, Heidi's grandmother sets out a fresh vase of lilies.
Least favourite plants and flowers - Sticky weed, stinging nettles, and tomato plants. While Heidi has nothing against tomatoes themselves, she has a mild allergic reaction when her skin makes contact with the plant. This fact, however, has not prevented Heidi from helping the other residents out in the communal vegetable garden, and Heidi has grown rather fond of harvesting her own fruits and vegetables.
Sticky weed is incredibly annoying to Heidi, especially when she is wearing a nice outfit for a day out. It takes her a great deal of time, in which she could be playing, to remove the plant from her clothing.
Stinging nettles are not most people's friends, and least of all Heidi's. During the early years of her life, Heidi tripped up many a time and landed herself, bare-kneed, in a patch of stinging nettles.

Favourite natural scents - Vanilla, lemon on hot pancakes, and summer flowers.
Heidi enjoys the scent of
Luckily for Heidi, who loves the beautiful array of scents and sickly sweet smells of summer, she is not allergic to most pollens and flowers and rarely gets a stuffy or runny nose from it. Her father was a hay fever sufferer, but she has been fortunate enough to inherit her mother's hardier immune system.
Least favourite natural scents -

Favourite man-made scents -
Least favourite man-made scents -

Favourite number - Twelve or seventeen. Heidi likes multiple digits, and these were the earliest multiple digit numbers that she could memorise to the images shown at nursery school of twelve ice-creams, and of seventeen strawberries.
Least favourite number - One, because of how lonely in nature the number can seem. Heidi hates to see even just a cuddly toy seated alone atop a bed. This is, perhaps, further exaggerated by her lack of siblings, which is something she would have loved.

Favourite colour - Oranges or yellows. Heidi loves bright colours as she finds them to be cheerful. Oranges and yellows are commonly seen in gentle spring flowers, raging summer heat like that of a sandy beach, and dreamy autumnal landscapes.
Least favourite colour - Vomit apricot. The shade and sight of the colours sends nauseous ripples down Heidi's spine, should she be misfortune enough to witness it.

Favourite drink to have - A glass of ice-cold fizzy lemonade made with real lemons. Heidi really enjoys a hot summer or an Indian autumn when the weather is nice and toasty and she can sit outside with the old folks to watch the world passing by.
Least favourite drink to have - A warm glass of orange juice which was never intended to be warmed in the first place. Heidi really hates it when a glass of fresh orange juice gets left out in the sun for too long, though she was raised never to be wasteful, and will simply add ice-cubes and hold her nose.

Favourite food to eat - Spaghetti bolognese. Heidi is particularly fond of the version her grandmother makes with whole-wheat spaghetti and turkey instead of beef. She finds this a very comforting and homely meal.
Least favourite food to eat - Cold cheese sauce on anything. Just the very whiff of a good cheese sauce gone cold is enough to turn Heidi's stomach. She was once sick after eating a bowl of pasta with cheese sauce that had gone cold, though this was mostly down to her personal reluctance to attend dinner in favour of colouring-in.

Favourite flavour ice-cream - Vanilla ice-cream with strawberry sauce and a flake. This is Heidi's all-time favourite special treat which has positive associations to outings with her grandparents.
Least favourite flavour ice-cream - Peanut brittle on its own or with anything, as Heidi is not particularly fond of nuts.
