Confined to Seperate Sides

What Alois was saying to her made no sense in her head, but now her brain wasn't picking up on the english it was all mumbo-jumbo in her head the words floating around, being reconized but not understood in context. Adalyn always had a difficult time picking up the language, but it was nessecary for her to learn it fully. Other people never seemed to have an issue with it, but for some reason it wasn't her thing. She could remember short fun phrases, but when it involved her actual though process to go through the motions of translating what a person said back to Italian so she could understand, form a response and then translate it back to English things got messed up and she couldn't ever remember what she really had wanted to say. Now she just stayed leaning over him listening to Alois's voice.

When he didn't reply back to her half statement she was suprised, it was another one of those odd moments where she had actually suprised him enough that he couldn't say anything. Now he might understand how she felt whenever she couldn't reply back to something he said, forming the right thing was hard, especially when you were speaking in a language that was not your own. Adalyn didn't move, except her hand on his jaw which was slowly moving back to where it had started; where her tear had fallen, but she didn't realize it as she was staring down into Alois's eyes. She waited for the answer to her question now as he had nothing to say on her previous statement. Though now she was actually suprising herself in actually caring what he had to say, she was already planning on making a bigger effort in understanding what he said next.

Love, a great mystery. Listening to what he claimed love to be she realized it fit how he felt for the girl. He did love her, most likely more then he thought he had as well. Though his tone gave away he wasn't certain on the answer, she was doing her best at understanding what he was saying now. "L'amore si trova nel tuo cuore non per resarci, ma per essere condiviso, Love is in your heart, not to stay, but to be shared," Adalyn told him in response remembering the saying her parents would always tell them as they grew up. "But, L'amore e una bellissima rosa rossa donata senza una ragione apparente, Love is a beautiful red rose, given for no reason. You love her. I bet even now you still do, and you won't stop, not for a long time. I know," she said pulling her hand back from his face. Adalyn pulled herself back still hovering above him but now using her hands to lean on instead of her elbows, which resulted in her taking her hand back from him. She knew she was pulling away from him, but there wasn't any reason for her to be with him. Her mind's eye was flashing pictures of Osmond, her twin, to her. She loved him more then anything on the earth, but then again he wasn't on the earth anymore so it was easy to say such things. He was the reason why she was disconnected from the world now, he died, and taken half of her with him. Now she realized how much Alois and Osmond looked alike. It must have been that which made her pull away from him yet still hold on to him. Now she felt even more stupid than she had in a long time. Infatuation, it was a strange word for a dumb feeling, Adalyn knew that she felt it now. He wasn't making her feel the happiest she had ever been, nor did she feel alone when he was there. Alois was a rock, a support, not someone to carry you away into romance. Maybe it was because he didn't want to be that person, as she had given him multiple opportunities to make a move, to kiss her/hold her, to do whatever he deemed oppropriate yet he was the statue then. Maybe she misread the signs, holding hands was a display of affection though friends could get away with that.

Adalyn shook her head slightly clearing her thoughts, she didn't need to have Alois question her on something she couldn't tell anyone. It could possibly endanger her and her family, she was quite sure why only her parents had pleaded with them not to say anything to anyone about Osmond. As far as the world knew, he never exsisted. He hadn't been a wizard, just a squib. The wizardery world didn't care about him and he had been the one child so far to dissapoint their family, but it hadn't really been his fault for not recieving magical powers. Looking at Alois she was angry at how one person could be special enough to get the gene while a few others never would be able to experience magical powers, unless it was ones that were used to toture and then kill. "Could you have loved me?" She asked him wanting to know the truth she didn't want him to be confused anymore, he needed to clear his thoughts and actually think. Confusion was to only be there for a little period, while the person sorted out thoughts. Alois seems to have been confused for a few days, which didn't seem like it was a good thing for him now. Adalyn wanted to know his emotions for her, yet he wasn't sure himself.

OOCOut of Character:
Phew that took awhile, again sorry if my long posts are getting annoying :p Emzies is inspiring me, not knowing of course to address everything that should be brought up. And I figured it was time for you, occ, to know what Adalyn is hiding :)

Alois stared at Adalyn, just stared, he didn´t know for how long, he just knew that neither the cold, nor the hard floor had any effect on him. Her pale skin was glistening in the dim light as he looked up at her. Her long hair flowed down her back, like a gentle waterfall, cascading. So many feelings were welling deep inside him that everything was just becoming numb in him, and around him. Anxiety. Sadness. Would he ever understand her? Would he ever be able to actually help her like he wanted to? Would fate be so cruel to deposit her before him, dangling her just outside the reach of his trembling grasp like some little plaything? What if she rejected him and he wouldn’t have the chance to know her once again?

Her twin irises of deep sea blue, the kind that was supposed to held so much emotion and depth you felt you could fall inside and never hope to come out... there in their place were the soulless orbs staring impassively into his own melancholic gaze. What was she like before? Staring into those ethereal blue eyes of her make him wonder if that dismal orbs would ever come back to life again, if those emotions would ever find its way back to her eyes. It didn't take long for his mind to register that though no matter how hard he tried, there would still be that unbreakable wall that separates her from him, just how he wished that that barrier would fall one day. Thinking back, he remembered their meeting earlier, she had shut the window on his, making it seemed like he wasn’t welcome in her world once more, but she did open it once again right? That’s why here he is now, staring into those eyes. There might still be hope then, maybe, just maybe, she wasn’t still that far off, and maybe if he just tried harder, he’ll be able to catch her before she became the epitome of darkness and despair. There might still be something that he can do, anything, anything at all.

Love, a simple four letter word yet the most unexplainable of all. The definition of the said word might actually differ from one to another, and sometimes, the said person’s definition of the word is enough to actually know how that person views love. Listening to her statement about love, Alois tried to see if he can actually catch a glimpse of her though about it, her feelings, her real ones. So she did have more emotional wisdom than he does, that thing he was sure as he listened to her more. She had spoken in her own language once again, but fortunately enough, unlike before, she had been willing enough to translate it for him to understand. She was right; love is to be shared. “Love is to be shared, but one shouldn’t really expect anything in return, you give love willingly, so, you should take the consequences of it, be it that you’ve been hurt, or not.” He said, his voice barely a whisper, it might have appeared that he was speaking out of own experience.

He was about to say something when he felt her let go of his hand, yet, when she brought Adrie into her statement once again, every cell in his body was paralyzed, everything in him roared, but nothing moved. She didn’t love him, but even so, at the moment, it was enough for him, for at least, he had loved someone, though it was unrequited, maybe there was really someone that was for him, it might not be her, but at least he had felt that feeling. Maybe Adalyn was right though, maybe he wouldn’t really stop loving her, maybe it would be really hard for him to untangle himself from her, but he had actually known that thing already. That she’ll always appear in his mind no matter what. That every morning when he wake up, she’ll be the first thought on his mind, wondering what she was doing, and when he’s about to sleep, she’ll also be the last one that he’ll think about. That would probably happen for a long time, until one day, he’ll think less and less of her, and once he would realized that, he knew that he’ll blame himself, blame himself for actually forgetting about her, but that’s the process of moving on her guessed. It would be quite hard, yet he was ready for it, or so he thought. “Pain is a part of the process of learning, it makes us complete it seems…” He said, answering his own question that he had just uttered some time back. Life wouldn’t probably be the same if one would only feel happiness, Yin and Yang, like Adrie had told him before it seemed.

Yet, by the looks of it, Adalyn’s was more inclined to the dark of it all, she seemed full of pain for him, and it pains him to see her like that. He had always been like that it seemed, sensitive to the feelings of those around him, he fears to hurt anyone, he was more into bringing smiles to those around him, though no matter how hard he tried, he could still be the cause of someone’s pain, but hopefully, in Adalyn’s case, he wouldn’t be one. “Surrender your pain unto me.” He muttered before he had even realized that he had actually said it. It’s true though, maybe he’s not the one to be the one that would be her partner for her life, but at least, at the moment, he wanted to be her pillar of support, the one to catch her once she fall, the shoulder that she can lean on whenever she needed help.

Could you have loved me? That question had taken him back. He was unsure of what to say to her, yes, he did care for her, he wanted her to be happy, he wanted to be there for her, but, does it mean that he could have possibly loved her then? The feeling was different from the one that he felt for Adrie, with Adrie, he was sure, yet with Adalyn… he was just too confused. Even so, he knew that in one way or another, he had to answer her, he just didn’t know how. If he did say yes, would he be able to live up to it? Would he be telling the truth? And if he said no, would he regret what he had said? Would he dare to take it back. Biting his lower lip, he tried to force himself to say something, anything that will hold her back in there, which will keep her in his reach, for he knew, that if he won’t do anything and remain speechless there, she’ll run away, and it would be hard for him to catch her again.

haha.. it's quite long.. I know.. :p Took quite a while though, I hope it's fine.. haha..

Adalyn sensed that he was trying to dechipher her, looking back and staring into her eyes; but at that moment she was busy with her own thoughts. Her mind going off in Italian while a few of his words stuck in there adding to the problem that was her mind. She was resorting back to her origanal stand of wanting to be around him, which wasn't at all how he wanted it. She wanted to be in a different place, alone; yet she couldn't just leave him there could she? Adalyn didn't think so, though he did owe her somehow for helping him realize that the girl wasn't good for him. Emotions were bursting out of him and she sigh pulling back from him sitting up into a more normal position before she replied to anything he said to her.

Holding her legs close to her she put her head on her knees and stared at him. "Isn't the greatest thing in life to love and be loved in return. You should except love back if you hand it out then," she said to him thinking over what he said. In some context what he said would be true, but you couldn't just never except to be loved back or nothing in return for your love. Maybe there would be a general understanding that you love the person and they love you back and they just never say it. But it has to be said and not just felt or it wasn't true. Even with the love of God, you had to say it to him and the priest would tell you of his love for you as well as the bible.

She looked down at her hands, her own seemed to empty now the pressure of his gone now that she had let go. Instead of doing nothing she clasped her own hands together, knowing herself was good enough to be with. After Osmond left, there wasn't any support left for her, and she learned not to care and support herself. "I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together," Adalyn told him after thinking everything through before actually saying it all out to him. Of course it had all been said once before by an famous American actress who didn't make it very long in life, but the meaning was still there. He was thinking of her she knew that and she wasn't going to stop him, afterall he had to admit to himself what she said was true first before he'd be able to say it back to her. "When it comes down to it, I let them think what they want. If they care enough to bother with what I do, then I'm already better than them," she said bringing another topic that always seemed to follow her gossip. "I let them all believe I'm with a boyfriend in ways that aren't appropriate for my age, because trying to deny anything makes things worse, and you shouldn't deny your love for her, even though it may not be the best thing for you," she told him her mind actually working and finding English easy for once. It was easy to quote Marilyn Monroe.

Surrender your pain, his words brought her back from the words of Marilyn to him. She wasn't sure what he wante her to do if anything. But she didn't want to reveal her pain to him at any point not to him. He wasn't in her family, he was barely a friend. She could easily trust him if she wanted too, but just as easily he could break it. Leaning back her shoulder blades bumped into the wall and she rested against it. Being so far away from him after just being over him for so long was very different for her but it was good. She didn't feel the pull of his emotions from him anymore, she could be herself now she wasn't as close. Her mother believed she could be a Seer because of her observance was so keen to people. Adalyn doubted her mother's thoughts as wishful hoping, considering true Seers were given plenty of money and goods to keep them comfortable. Others who weren't as good would become teachers, which was still considering a good enough job. The real fakes, would live out their life in poverty, something Adalyn didn't want to consider as an option.

"I can't," she whisphered back to him pushing herself closer into the wall and farther from him. She did it without meaning too, Adalyn didn't want him to think her rude but she couldn't let him in and see her greatest weakness, how half of her was missing and the other half wasn't even there to begin with. Pushing back her emotions she let her face become rigid as she tried to think of happy thoughts to overcome the pain in her eyes so he would stop trying to be there for her. Adalyn didn't want him there anymore, he wasn't anything to her, she had thought she could use him but he was to much like Osmond for her to bare. Yet he didn't know that so he would continue to push and she couldn't make him stop without actually telling him.

Adalyn waited for his answer to her simple question, yes no, depends, there were only three answers he could choose from yet he didn't decide on one and that hurt more then him saying No. She bite her lip looking down at the ground by his hand, the one that had held her own close. She blocked any pain that would surface, knowing she didn't really care, right? At least she didn't think she did, but inside she knew she was denying the truth to him and to herself. She cared if she was liked or not, what people said didn't affect her, but what she meant to them did. Be it a rock and roll mentor or a lover, she wanted to know and feel their love and pain, to make her own seem small in comparision to the worlds. That was the only thing that ever made Adalyn feel better about herself.

When Adalyn pulled back away from him, Alois knew that his chance to actually know her was getting slim. Just that simple act meant a lot to him it seemed, for just like before, it simply states that she won’t let him in again, that she was running way just like before. Sighing, he pushed himself up, sitting in a cross-legged position just in front of her. They were just near each other, yet, they seemed like miles apart. There seemed to be an infinite distance between them, that no matter how hard he tired to reach her, she’s still too far away. She’s there, yet, she seemed to be untouchable, like any moment, she’ll disappear and would never come back again. Her, but not her. He wanted so much to touch her and feel her warmth, just so he can assure himself that she was still there and that what he was seeing was not merely an illusion, but he did know too that that wouldn’t do him any good. She’d pull away once again, and that thing, he knew he cannot take.

“It would be great if that person that you loved loves you in return, but even so, nothing’s definite, with love comes pain. You give your love out willingly, and if that person didn’t love you back, then you should accept it readily as well without having any regrets.” Alois said, his head hanging low, for though he was speaking to Adalyn, his words seemed to be much more for himself. But maybe she was right, he’d be a charlatan if he said that he wouldn’t wished for Adrie to return his feelings, but that’s life it seemed, everything happens for a reason. “It’s better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all..”

Looking at her once more, Alois cannot help but to feel that he’s not being of nay help at all. She’s slowly disappearing once again, and once she did disappeared, then what would he do? What would he do to earn her back? Casting his glance down to his hand, he wondered what she would do if he holds her once again, if he holds her and not let go at all. Let go or hold on? What should he do then? Letting go might have seemed to be hard, but in reality, it was holding on that is much harder to do, especially if that person that you would want to hold on to was pushing you away. Would he still manage to hold on to that small part of her that was still there?

Everything that she had uttered makes sense to him, of course, everything does happen for a reason, things go wrong just so one can actually fully understand its worth, and some things we cannot achieve probably because there was something better. “Feelings changed, just like how people do…” He said, remembering those words being said to him before. He didn’t know whether it was real though, for in his case, he hadn’t really proven that out yet, yet, it seemed like it fits to say it right now. “Change is inevitable Adalyn, without accepting the fact that everything changes, we cannot find perfect serenity. But unfortunately, although it is true, it is difficult for us to accept it. And because of that, we suffer.” All changes, no matter how hard it is to accept, for what was left behind is a part of ones self. Though he had said that, there was still a part of Adalyn’s statement that he didn’t agreed on fully, that was about trust. No, one cannot just trust one self without trusting anyone else that was just too hard to do then. “Adalyn, you believe lies, not so you can learn just to trust no one but yourself, but rather, lies were there just so you will learn to choose those persons worthy of your trust.”

“It it hard not to care about what the others were saying, it’s just that, it is innate for us humans to actually care about how the others view us, we’re afraid of rejection, that thing is true Adalyn, but sometimes, when you get down to it, it is better to not care at all, just so you can minimize the pain.” He said, of course, he had asked her before about that, and just like her answer earlier, she didn’t care, at least that was what it was in the surface, but for all he knew, of course, she still did care about what the others were thinking of her. “I’m not denying what I am feeling; I just chose to suppress it inside. I won’t ever deny it Adalyn, but I chose not to say it, cause it’s better this way, this way, no one will get hurt." Alois knew that it would be real selfish of him if he tried to deny that he had loved Adrie, but even so, he also knew that it would be more selfish of him if he tried to hold her back just because of what he was feeling. “If you love someone, just their happiness is enough for you to go on; just that smile on their face is enough for you to accept that she can’t love you in return..” He added, knowing that just as what he had said before, he respect her choice, though it’s not like he had actually told her what he felt by then.

I can’t. Those two simple words uttered by Adalyn was enough to actually frustrate him even more, by the looks of it, she hadn’t trust him, not completely, and from what he thought, she never did. He was offering himself to be her pillar of support, at least, until someone was already there to actually take that responsibility from him. Adalyn just looks so fragile and delicate to him despite that though exterior, that he felt like, she would break down any moment. That she was actually trying to keep everything to herself, not wanting anyone’s help, and it pained him to see her like that. How can so much pain be contained in that one person? He felt rejected at the moment, especially when she pushed herself farther from him, increasing their distance, the stillness of the room wasn’t making everything better too, for it just seemed like they were in a different dimension the, too quiet, full of emotions, and he’s starting to not be able to bear all of it. But he needed to be strong then, that is, if he wanted to actually help her get over everything and learn to trust somebody else. “Why?”

What was she in his life then? Could she have loved her? He wasn’t sure, and that thing, he knew was actually making it harder for her, for him not to say anything, he knew that she was causing her more pain. She was someone special for him then, a source of strength if he may say so, but he didn’t know if that was what she really was. Could he have said anything, what would she do? And he cannot even say that he didn’t know, for surely, that wouldn’t make any sense at all, it was his own self, yet he cannot understand his feelings.

Adalyn didn't reply back to what he was saying. He moved to infront of her and she never felt more trapped. Alois wasn't looking at her and she knew the words were hitting him as well, which caused her mouth to stay shut and the words to linger for a bit. She didn't know what to say back to him anyways. Closing her eyes she wondered what the weather was like outside, being in the dark dungeon always seemed to bring those thoughts to her. Leaning back against the wall she kept her arms around her knees. He was responding the other words she had said to him and again her voice didn't speak back up to him. It wasn't that she couldn't reponsed or that she didn't know what to say anymore she was trapped and giving in to him would be to respond and agree.

Alois didn't get the point of the quote she used from Marilyn Monroe. She shook her head but didn't fight back anymore to what he was saying. She wanted to get up and leave, but she couldn't really just run away from him and wait at the door like she did with others, could she? He was kind, almost to sweet for his own good. Yet his heart was taken, and that girl was too stupid to know how much she had hurt him. "No one will get hurt," she whisphered back his words and knew how untrue they really were. Looking over him she wondered how much pain and feelings he constantly supressed back into himself. "You're hurt, because of her," she told him looking up into his eyes,
I'm hurt because of them. She didn't know what to do, she never comforted people before. It was always her that was being comforted and then she realized she could just mimick the motions others like her brother did with her to Alois. Moving her legs underneath her she leaned forward and wrapped her arms around Alois' torso. She was half leaning on him to keep herself from falling over but it was the best hug she could manage in their position of sitting on the floor.

His question rang in the air, silence surrounding them, why? She didn't know why she couldn't, part of it had to with how she couldn't really tell him why she held so much pain inside of her. But yet she did want to tell him, tell him everything about her life. Fill him in on her deep secrets she kept in the pit of her stomach everyday and they only came out to haunt her while she slept. But now she was comforting him, the pain he felt inside of himself seemed so familar to her. She knew why he hurt and now he just wanted a equal playing field, could she really tell him why? Adalyn didn't know the answer but she may, it all depends on what his next action was.

Adalyn's statement was enough to make Alois froze in place, she had just turned the tables once again, turned his words against him. Of course, when he had said that no one would get hurt when he suppressed his feelings was something that he really meant, it's just that, when he said no one, he did not include himself. She might be right by then, he was hurting because of Adrie, but then again, it was his choice, and he cannot blame anyone for it. He cannot blame anyone but himself for being unable to say what it was that he had truly felt. But he was not the type of person who would become very emotional, he choose to control his feelings as much as he can, until he cannot hold anything anymore, and at the moment, Adalyn was making him spill everything out, the first time that they had met earlier, he had never thought that he'll be able to tell her what he had truly felt, he had never really thought that she'll stay long enough to listen to him. All he had ever wanted then was just to know who she was, be her friend if he could, but then, by the looks of it, he was still far from reaching his goals.

When Adalyn hugged him, Alois didn't know how to respond. She did it again, and as strange as it sounds, her hug was rather comforting if he may say so. It was probably not because it was her that was doing it, it was just that, such simple gestures when shown to him, was something that he really appreciates. Just that simple physical contact between them was enough to show him that someone cares, though he wasn't sure if it was what she meant. raising his hand up, he decided to hug her back, thinking that she might need the same comfort that he needed. "I'm fine Adalyn...." He whispered, not wanting to be overly emotional once again. The seriousness was suffocating him now, and he didn't like it at all.

Adalyn didn't respond to his question, and that made him wonder why. What was it that she was hiding from him, from everyone? Why was it that she was so afraid to actually trust him. "Why Adalyn? You can tell me what it was that you wanted to say, I might not be able to do anything about it, but even so, wouldn't it feel better to share your thoughts to someone else, to have someone who will be there to listen?" He said slowly, not wanting to actually offend her or anything. He wanted to be the one who would comfort her now, cause it seemed like since they had met, she's the one who was comforting him when it should have been the other way around. "But it's still your choice, I'll have to respect your decision no matter what."

Adalyn closed her eyes listening to what he said as she continued to hug him. He had valid points and she had never been a debater so this constant back and forth was getting tiring. He didn't bore her, just she wasn't a fan of fighting, ending on bad noted was never a good thing and she knew that. The last time she saw her brother was at the end of Summer Break last year and they got in a huge agruement and she went back to school, now she could never see him again and tell him the things she wanted too. Adalyn was just a void body, there wasn't anything really controlling her anymore and she barely spoke out for herself. There wasn't a point, not without the other half of her. She knew how twins were suppose to be made, yes she learned all about two eggs coming down instead of just one. But with magical testing it proved the egg began to spilt and was fertilazed by two different sperm from their father, thus giving the female gene from the mother the exact same. They really only shared their eyes, but other things were similar too. The slight curve of the nose, though his had been always larger then hers.

Thinking about Odmond didn't affect her as much as it used too. Tears would occasionly come to her eyes, because she really missed him. But Adalyn believed herself to be nothing and didn't care for anything. But now here she was caring about Alois and his issues, it astounded her. "You're not. No one is," she said in return but didn't put up that much of a fight about it, that much was clear in her tone. With her chin resting on his shoulder she stared at the wall but soon found her eyes closing, for him returning the hug. "My family, it's promised. I can't say anything," she whisphered back to him knowing it wasn't right for her to just spill everything without consulting her parents first. It was their son afterall, and though he had been an embarassment they still loved him just as much as her.

Usually, when Alois found himself in a situation at which he would have to deal with emotional conflicts, he would always try to make his way out by just leaving few comforting statements and just leave it hanging there. He was not really that fond of dealing with emotional people after all, for he himself was not one to like acting like that. He didn't like it when those around him are feeling down, for it affects him too. He was just too sensitive about those negative feelings it seemed, that's why he had always like it whenever he would be able to bring out a smile into somebody else's face, it makes him feel rather good about himself. However, this case was different, it was quite a surprise that he had managed to make it through this conversation, for he would normally just break the seriousness off by stating something else. But then again, he knew that that wouldn't be of any help at all, both of them needed someone to comfort them and it would be rather unfair on her side if he would just let her be down when she had just help him through his problems earlier. He wanted to be the one who would do the comforting now, just like what he was supposed to do.

He decided not to comment about her first statement, it was not really needed anyways, but what had caught him off guard was the statement that had followed it. He never did think that the reason why she cannot just tell him everything was probably because it was supposed to be a secret held by her family, now, it dawned unto him how selfish his request was. "I understand.." He said softly, knowing that it would be really inappropriate for him to just fore her around even if he had just known the real reason why she was being too secretive.

Adalyn pulled away from him, she knew she couldn't take to much more contact like that or she'd break. And she didn't want to be broken, she was like a wild horse in the Americas on of the few Mustangs still going strong. Or at least it looks like she's going strong but inside Adalyn was nothing because she has already crumbled down to that point. She was well beyond the breaking part, she only needed to keep people away so they wouldn't get too close. Alois was getting to close and she knew it, it was time to pull away, too do her disappearing act. This time she'd have to use the excuse of studying but if she saw him in the future it might be harder to get away. Still having the want to be with him, keep him close, yet she was too afraid. Afraid of breaking, of getting a broken heart, of feeling.

"Right," she said sitting up straight. Pushing herself from the ground she found herself high above Alois, even though she was just standing. "I have to study soon, I have no other time to study, so..." Adalyn left it hanging so he'd get the message that it was time for them to leave. Of course she didn't have to say it outloud, it was one of those mental tricks people can use. Just say a few words in the right way and the idea would pop into their own heads.

Alois had to sigh when Adalyn had pulled away from him. He just knew it. He knew that the chance for him to actually get to know her better, to actually help her, had just slipped away from his grasp. He knew that she’ll get away from him right then and there. And he already had the feeling that she’ll eventually close herself once again. Just as he thought that he had finally broken down the walls that she had build up around her, another series of barriers had build up, and these ones were much harder to pass through than before. She was afraid to trust him, that thing was obvious enough to him. And though he wouldn’t exactly say it out loud, he was upset that she had rejected him, though she didn’t show it that obviously. This might be their last meeting as well if fate would be harsh enough to him.

Hearing her statement, Alois knew that it was already the end of their discussion. She had already wanted to get out and leave, and though he didn’t want to do as told, he had no choice but to do so. It was her choice, and just as stated before, he had to accept it then no matter what. “Alright then, I don’t want to bother you..” He said, standing up to full height without looking at her then. He didn’t want her to see the emotions swimming in his eyes right then, for he didn’t want to appear more emotional than he did before.

It was always the way she lived, she needed human contact but not forever, not anything lasting. Adalyn lived alone in her world only reaching out when she saw others that needed help, from a bully and Alois was just an acception. He had troubles with the ladies, well one with specific girl that is, he held his emotions all over his face. Looking at him as he stood she wondered why he wouldn't use her when she would be using him in return. He wouldn't do, which meant he needed to go, sad as it was that was just Adalyn.

"Right, have you got everything?" She asked as she turned from him to take a hold of her writing book and place it in her area of the dungeon room. Adalyn looked back at him, though he wasn't looking at her, he was hiding something from her now. But she didn't care, she couldn't; she just had to quietly walk out of his life.

If Alois had a choice, then he would have just chosen to stay right there and talk to Adalyn, to get to know everything that was possibly bothering her, but he doesn't have that right to do so. She had just closed everything off just like before, but unlike earlier, this time, it seemed like it would be much harder for her to open up again. He just made a great mistake, he was well aware of that fact, and as sad as it was, he needed to get over it and accept that try as he might, he just can't be a character in Adalyn's story.

"Yeah, I think so." He said, faking a smile as he turned to look at her. This might be the last time that he'd be able to see her, to talk to her, and he wouldn't want it to end the way that he would feel bad for a long time knowing that he had just lost a potential friend.

Adalyn nodded and pulled herself over to the door taking the magical torch from the wall so they could see on the way back to the surface world. She was already setting out and only briedly stopped to make sure he was following along, otherwise he'd be lost in the dungeon for a long time. She had spent the last four years in the dungeon exploring this was his first time in the place. "Good," she said finally answering him back after climbing a couple of sets of stairs. Glancing back at him a few times she was detrimined to read him and figure out his emotions on her and why he didn't want her. The way he was as a young teen, only a year older then her, was one of the reasons why she prefered the older students. They were in charge of their emotions and knew what to do with themshelves. He still had to learn the ways of the heart.

There's nothing else that Alois had to say, that thing he was sure of, and besides, even if he did say something, he figured that Adalyn wouldn't listen to him anyway, at least, not in the way that he wanted her to. She's closed off, and he knew that it would be really hard to have her back. Wordlessly, he followed her as they started their way out of the dungeon, close enough so he wouldn't loose sight of her, yet far enough so he wouldn't have to invade her personal space. Again, just like before, there seemed to be an infinite gap between them, and as time passed by, it was getting more and more awkward. The silence was unnerving, really, but he decided not to break it. It wouldn't be right to do so, at least, that's what he thought, for by the look of it, she seemed to not want to talk to him anymore.

END :p
