This lesson would be far more interesting than the previous, however for the misfortune of the students, Professor Styx was in a horrible mood. One could tell if they looked in his eyes and saw the fury, and that his arms were crossed, and looked very rigid. He was staring at the doors right now, as they opened to let the students in. Once they were all seated, the doors slammed shut, and Professor Styx forced all the thoughts he had except over the lesson aside as he did not need to have body bags on the side of his classroom if one student spoke out of term. Professor Styx was extremely controlled, and he had to be to keep his cover. Professor Styx said icily, "This lesson will be short for you, so count your blessings." Professor Styx knew that they would need to get as much information crammed into their tiny minds before the OWLs if they hoped to pass. "The OWLs are almost here and you need more time to study and less time to learn everything in as they are around the corner." Pausing for a moment to get a deep breath, Professor Styx continued on with the brief lesson, "Today, we are discussing the Flagrante Curse." Looking over the students, he could see who knew the effects and those that did not. "The curse is known to burn whomever touches the object that it is cast on. This curse has been known to occasionally be used on valuable items in Gringotts vaults. This is likely one of the few curses we've studied that a simple 'finite' will not reverse, otherwise it would prove pointless, expecially at Gringotts." Professor Styx looked over the class, and he knew that he was done explaining the curse, but he did keep his promise to make sure the lesson was brief, and it was. "Essay over this curse, and have it turned in by the time your next lesson begins. Dismissed," ordered Professor Styx as the doors opened to allow the students to leave. Assignment: Roleplay the lesson and do the homework assigned. |

Kate walked out of the Great Hall and up the staircase to the First Floor for DADA class.The weather was turning colder and the days shorter as the days went by.The sun was no longer streaming in through the windows as brightly and as early as it used to,though Kate wouldn't be experiencing the New Zealand winter as she would be at home in England by then and hopefully she would enjoy a nice,warm summer where she could spend it out at the pool.When she walked into the DADA classroom,it was pretty clear that Professor Styx was not in any way in a good mood today.He seemed furious about something.Kate just hoped he didn't take his anger out on them.When she was seated her slammed the door and luckily Kate was sort of expecting it so she didn't jump.Thank God it would be a short lesson.The OWLs were approaching and fast.Kate had been studying a lot more recently.She wanted to do good in her OWLs. The word Flagrante did ring a bell inside her head.She had definitely heard of it before but she couldn't remember much about it.Something to do with Gringotts.Kate had read a lot of books last year and she had really only read them not properly studied them so even though she had read much of this years' course she could only remember one or two things.As Professor Styx spoke,Kate wrote down the few notes on the curse and then the homework.When class was dismissed,she collected her things,decided it was best not to say thank you and left the classroom and walked up to the library where she did the homework.

Mylie wasn't eager about it already being lesson five. Mostly because it meant that the OWL's were just that much closer for her to take. Mylie entered the Defense Against Dark Arts classroom and sighed. Mylie didn't know what they were going to be discussing in DADA today, but she assumed she would need to remember it for the OWL's or something. Mylie could easily admit that she wasn't ready. Not even close. Sure she had been studying for them. But was that really going to help her out? Mylie could been studying more. She probably should be studying more. But Hades was keeping her from doing that. As much as she didn't want to blame him, he was doing more than his fair share of distracting her lately. Hades had asked Mylie if he could become her boyfriend. Unfortunately Mylie had to say no due to the fact that she barely knew him and she felt people who were together should know one another. But that didn't mean that she didn't like him. Mylie sat down in a random seat and waited for the others to arrive and class to begin. Hades was still on her mind. Mylie did sort of like him. Now that they were hanging out a lot more often than they were. He was creepy but he did have another side to him that was almost dare she say, sweet? Soon class started and Mylie turned her attention to Professor Styx. Maybe they could get to see another curse in action or something. Mylie thought Professor Styx was always an interesting Professor. He could be scary, but in a way he reminded her of Hades. The lesson today was going to be shorter, but they were going to discuss the Flagrante Curse. Mylie did not recall this spell whatsoever. It didn't even sound remotely familiar to her. That was why she was thankful Professor Styx was going over it today. The Flagrante Curse is known to burn whomever touches the object that it is cast on. Apparently the curse has been known to occasionally be used on valuable items in Gringotts vaults. Mylie could see why. Finite also didn't work on the curse. Otherwise the curse would be fairly useless. Mylie easily understood that much. A part of her wished she could use it on the door to her room. Then she could keep her parents out of her room when she didn't want them in there. But Mylie supposed that she had better not try it. Mylie wrote down the homework assignment and tucked it away as she left the classroom behind her other classmates. |

[justify] Isaia Romanes walked into the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom. The Ravenclaw Prefect of course had his mind on none other than Aphrodite Snow, his girlfriend. He was enamored with her, and soon he would tell her some of what he learned. The OWLs were not that bad this time, not for the Ravenclaw. But this class was somewhat different. As he seated, Isaia could tell that there was something up with Professor Styx. He appeared to be rigid, perhaps in a bad mood? It was actually hard to tell. Although the Ravenclaw actually did not really care too much. Isaia just did not want to bother too much with Professor Styx. He was rather scary to deal with. Isaia heard the icy voice of Professor Styx, and it snapped him into focus. He looked up at Professor Styx as he adjusted himself in his seat to get himself comfortable. Of course he had to of course, but he would live with it, even if he was getting chills. Thankfully the lesson was going to be short for them. They were discussing the Flagrante Curse, which Isaia actually did not know too much about. He just thought that it was a curse that had something to do with burning, but he didn't know what it actually was. Just as he suspected, the curse was known to burn whomever touches the object that the curse was cast upon. However when they were discussing what it was being used on in Gringotts vaults, it would be nice to protect some things. And a finite does not lift it at all. And as Professor Styx had promised, the lesson was indeed short, and it was time to leave. Isaia packed his things, and he chose to go over to find Aphrodite, perhaps to practice with Quidditch and whatnot. There was so many things he could do with his girlfriend, but right now he just wanted to cuddle.[/justify] |

Georgiana walked into the Defence Against the Dark Arts Classroom, instantly she could feel the tension in the air. Glancing at the Professor it wasn't hard to miss that he was no happy camper today. Sitting down in her usual seat she took out her notes and ink well with her quill. As the doors slammed shut she winced but was glad that once he started the lesson he told them it was going to be short. Being in the classroom wasn't fun to begin with and him having a bad mood made it worse. As soon as she could get out she would. Georgie took notes on the Flagrante Curse as the Professor briefly introduced it to them. She was glad that he gave little information, it meant more for the essay could be used without having to repeat his words. That was one thing Georgiana never wanted to do, repeat words of the teachers, she figured that they would get upset over it. Packing up her things as he ended the class she hurridly made it out of the class mumbling a thank you on her way. Homework
