She decided first to head to the mall, figuring she could get some shopping done there first before heading to the village that afternoon to meet up with her sister for lunch. It was still to early for her to pick out a Yule Ball dress, but she figured it couldn't hurt to start looking, just to get an idea of what she might like so she popped into her favorite dress shop just to take a peek at what they had in so far.

She was not satisfied with the outfits she had at home, and knew that with her husband and her being seperated for weeks now, she was not about to wear just any old thing. She wanted to look smoking hot. Pulling on a simple sundress and ballet flats, she added her birthday present necklace and earrings and purple rose hair clips before heading out the door. Once outside, she apparated quickly to the entrance point. The doors opened magically, and she walked inside, looking for the shop that she and Kat typically shopped at, hoping her friend would be there and able to help her pick something out. It was a long shot that the Gryffindor would be shopping already, but one that she was willing to take. She entered the shop and looked around, hoping to find the person she was looking for. Turning she found the culprit was her friend. "Dammit Lily...are you trying to kill me by making my heart stop," she said laughing as she hugged the girl tightly. Kat cocked her head to the side and propped her hands on her hips as a sly grin broke out on her face. "Shouldn't you be held up in your room with your husband somewhere...knowing Sumner I'm surprised her doesn't have you cuffed to the bed post right now," she said, biting the inside of her cheeks to keep from laughing.

"No, no heart stoppages, that I will leave for your man," she said with a large smile, returning her friend's hug. "Nah, we aren't meeting for another hour and a half. I decided that I needed something new to wear. Not like it will be on very long anyways," she added, her voice trailing off at the end and a smirk covering her face. "He wanted to get as much rest as possible is what he told me." She shook her head, then moved to stand a bit closer to her friend.

Her face was bright red when she looked at her friend and said, "I think if anyone could pull it off then you can. Dang Lily...you just might give Sumner a heart attack." She pulled one out and looked at it, but something about it just didn't scream 'SURPRISE' so she she hung it back up. "You finding any? I like both of these," she said as she held up one coat and then the other.

She flipped through a few more coats, not really seeing the right one. Grabbing one off the rack, it was a bit swingier than the others. "What do you think of this?" she asked, holding the jacket out.

Lily responded, her voice trailing off as she turned her head to follow her friend's path. Her eyes bugged out as she saw what Kat picked up. "That's perfect! I love it! Maybe I should get two of them right away, in case something happens to one of them," she said, her cheeks blushing with the image of the black fabric in tatters on the floor of the room. It still amazed her that she was able to maintain a friendship with Kat after all that happened between them. Kat and Sumner weren't broken up that long before Lily and Sumner started hooking up, and their lust turned into love. It was a true testament to their friendship that they were able to make it through the rough spots and remain as close of friends as they were. "Now I need a pair of shoes." Looking around, Lily spotted them. Pink to match the ribbon on the top, high heels and heart shaped cut outs. Perfect. "Katalina! These are the most perfect shoes ever!" She picked them up and took them to a chair, quickly slipping off her ballet flat and the pink shoes on. Standing back up, she modeled the shoes for her friend. "Whatcha think?"

I would have missed this." Lily smiled at her friend, knowing that she was telling the truth. She would have missed Kat if things had not worked out between them. When Lily apologized she just looked at her, not really sure what to say. Selecting her words carefully Kat replied, "You know...there was a part of me that was foolish to even have you make that promise. I knew Lily...some little part of me always knew. And as much as I wanted to believe that everything would be okay after that day that everything had happened between the four of us...I just, I knew that Sumner and I weren't meant to be together, but I'm stubborn and pigheaded and just wouldn't let myself try to believe it...tried to convince myself that I was wrong, that one we would be together again. You've got nothing to apologize for Lily, you fell in love. If people have to apologize for that then I guess I'll apologize too." Kat grabbed her friends hand and gave it a small squeeze. "So...what else do we need to put this plan into full motion," she said with a wink and a grin.
